Super Chic Spa Party

April 2, 2012

The use of the French très chic (very chic) by an english speaker would generally mean elegant, beautiful,  and it is specially associated with stylishness.

So what else could these two beautiful twins have for their birthday party? The answer:   A très chic spa party,   with Hippojoy.

Introducing Marina & Gabriella, two sparkly and adorable twins…. One is totally into pink, the other one would rather have a calm setting and loves lime-green. Perfect combination…voila!

This is a party were a photographer is a must. Marina and Gabriella were fortunate to have deLima photography at their party. Thank you for allowing us to use your beautiful and professional pics, great work.

The setting was in pink, fucsia and lime green. We had stations so the girls would be pampered every step of the way.

They were greeted with a sparkly beverage by Miss Roxanne, who flew directly from France with her associate Maggie. They own a luxurious Spa in France you see, the Spa were Monsieur Beaveerrr and his girl friend, beautiful Selena go for some beauty rest. Madamme Roxanne, has a heavy frenchy accent but is great to be around with.  She has great beauty tips for every girl…

A little toast for the Birthday girl were they shared their wishes for them and said beautiful things about the twins.  We taught the girls the importance of walking with confidence, inner beauty and how a happy smile can conquer a lot! I am not sure if it was what we have told them or the fun they were having but smiles were everywhere.

The girls had beauty masks, a relaxing massage, make up and manicures.

I will post more pictures and talk a little bit more about menu and other great ideas for the Spa theme.

If you want to contact us for your next Spa event for your girl or any other event, please do so at…

Talent Show Party

May 13, 2010

This awesome and talented kid performed “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga at Edmond’s Sixth Grade Festival.

Talent show parties are becoming very popular, not only at schools but as private birthday party celebrations. You can have an all the way type of thing where you can even hire look alike performers to hang out with your friends or have special appearances or keep it simple.

If you gave us to choose where to spend the most at this type of party, I would have to say decoration and the stage.  Also a character host/DJ who acts as a presenter like in the Oscar’s or Academy Awards!   Remember the focal point is the stage where you can set up the DJ and/or karaoke machine. We have developed a pop-up type of stage that we rent or have a more elaborate one that can light up and change colors. Our decoration also includes a mood set up high-quality banner of the Hollywood sign in California. It is an awesome setup that can include red carpet picture opportunity. Your friends will sure feel like the stars of the night.

The DJ creates fun games for the kids to follow. It is funny how kids get shy around other friends but will follow fun directions from a stranger. The truth is that a professional DJ for kids knows how to make everyone participate and get the energy going so they all  have a great time. Ours even has everyone warm up their voices, form group and have intermission games where everyone wants to jump in and participate.  Combine Karaoke with dance shows, this way you have a better opportunity for participation.  Have solos but also duets and group singing and dancing. You can even plan this ahead of time creatively so your friends form in groups for the party.

These talent show, karaoke or fun parties can be theme related with Western or Hannah Montana, Camp Rock, the Grammies, America’s got talent, American Idol, and so on.

Have someone impartial be the judges at your party and have the DJ make a fun introduction. At the end of the party you can award them categories and give them small Oscar statues or prizes. Everybody should be a winner. Some categories: Best acting performance, best dressed, best singer, etc.

To save on the cost of  food, keep it simple with dips,  chip, pop-corn, pizza and hot dogs like in the movies and have everyone stadium style seated surrounding the stage. If you want to go high-end on food, go with mouth bites and hors d’oeuvres, again your choice of mini-pizzas or shrimp and caviar!

This party screams fun! If you choose this party, call for a free consultation. We can work with you for your partial needs or create the whole party. This event will be something you and your friends will enjoy and talk about for years!

Tips to enjoy the Best Party Ever!!!

May 12, 2010

Every job we do, we want our clients to enjoy. I mean really enjoy! A party is a reflection of your personality and taste. Every party is a celebration and every celebration should be a party!

When we work with mothers of Quinceañeras or Sweet Sixteen we often get their kids on board from the beginning so they have a clear vision of what is going to happen at their party and to enjoy every second of it.

Here are our Tips on how to have the Best Party Ever:

1.     HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE AND ENJOY!

Ever heard of the Positive Thoughts Theory? This is so true!  Positive thoughts attract positive things. You need to imagine yourself and your friends enjoying the party and having the time of your life; most likely, if you see it,  it will happen that way!

If you have positive and energetic vibe at the party and feel relaxed and enjoying every second you will transmit this vibrant energy. It is contagious!  Sure, you want your friends to enjoy it too, sure eyes will be on you when you perform your dance, but this is YOUR moment, so enjoy it no matter what!

2. DISCOVER YOUR PARTY THEME

If you recognize at an early stage, what your party theme is going to be, you will have a better chance of planning ahead of time. If you are not into themes, like princess or western, take into consideration that the inspiration idea for your party make come from the vibe you experienced at a favorite disco, your favorite color, your favorite food or even the dress you are planning to wear!  Not every party has a theme but it should have an inspiration.

With the theme, make a list of your likes and dislikes, what did you see at a friend’s party that you totally loved? What would you not want at your party? Answer this questions and discuss them with your mom or event planner at your first consultation.

Some key points to consider: dress/wear,  food preferences, serving style preference, color scheme preference…

3.  FOOD

Make sure your guests have a nice selection of food to choose from if you decide to go with a buffet style. One or two meats, chicken and/or fish, a vegetarian plate, two choices of salads and two sides. If you go with a sit down dinner and serving, carefully read the menu and ask the planner or venue to help you pick your choice. If dinner is at home and you are having a “friends only”  type of party you may serve a buffet style table with finger foods.

4.  MUSIC

Even if you choose a particular theme like Western Style, have other type of music to please all audiences. Two-five songs from the theme style will be sufficient and then you can go ahead and play everyone’s favorites. You can choose a mood song  when people are coming in and taking their places and then a climax song for when the party is at its high!

If you are going to have a live-band, mariachis or DJ , check them out first. If a friend is going to perform this task, practice ahead of time.

5. YOUR PERFORMANCE/DANCE

The key to having a great performance is practice and again our number one choice: ENJOY!!!    If you hire a professional, make sure you have a prior consultation to explain your likes or dislikes. If your friends are going to be involved in the dance, ask them ahead of time to make sure they don’t have prior engagements and they can make it to rehearsals on time. If one of them misses a step or makes a mistake on the big day and you notice, let it go, wash it off with a big smile or even interrupt your dance to give them a big hug. You don’t want to loose a  friendship over a step, plus your reaction will last for a life time!

Check out this fun video of a bride and groom at their wedding. Her soon to be husband accidentally pronounces lawfully as “wawfully” and she cracks up so much that they have to take a break!

lol. See what I mean? Not that this will happen to you, but when accidents happen, weirdly enough it is your reaction the one that will be remembered!

6. IT IS ALL IN THE DETAILS.

To make a party real special, think about the details. Small details make moments memorable. Don’t be afraid to make something different and go for it: transform the ordinary into extraordinary! We do it all the time and love it when guests have that AWE moment when confronted with the unexpected at a party!

Blue Spark in Osceola County

May 7, 2010

We were invited to participate on a Partners for Education family picnic. We shared great moments with the kids and their families at beautiful Chisholm PArk Trail in Saint Cloud, FL.

We got there early to put our tent and face painting in place and Blue Spark flew there  and was a great hit with children.

A line of kids waiting for face-painting!

Blue Spark was magical she played around and did face painting on some kids.  Butterfly masks were their favorite, we had a couple of dragons, snakes and spidermans too.

Thankyou Judy for having us at the Park. We had a terrific time and the kids did too!

Sweet Sixteen Party Ideas

April 28, 2010

The traditional sweet sixteen or quinceanera parties have taken a huge turn!

If you are mom or dad you might be thinking about the traditional ball and your son or daughter might be thinking about a beach party. You may be already rehearsing the waltz in your head while he or she is thinking rave or no music. Or even worse, neither of you can make up your mind or have no idea whatsoever.

That is why it is a good idea to hire a planner to help you set your goals.

First things first. You will need to give them a budget to work with. This is very important because you set the base and limit of what you can have at the party. Also important is an approx. guest list and age range. If you have an idea of what you want, you can bring in pictures, videos an inspirational piece to the first consultation, but in case you have no clue of what you want, have a prior phone interview so the planner can help you figure out what you are about, likes and dislikes. Sometimes it just takes a little push in the right direction for a wonderful party. Some planners even have a form or RFP that will help you understand the direction that the party will take.

Here are some popular ideas for Sweet Sixteen Themes and some key points for each:

THE FORMAL BALL.

A formal Ball can also have many twists…

Do you want to be the princess of the night or make your guests feel like royalty? This is the theme for you.

A formal Ball can also have many twists…

Have the set up resemble an enchanted garden or a set on Paris, China or some exotic location. Or you might prefer a masquerade ball with a mardigrass carnival and all. Make sure that whatever the theme you need to let your guests know so they have the right attire.

Always remember that you should include music theme related and for all ages! Yes that also means some that mom or dad can dance to and enjoy!

MASQUERADE BALL

This is a cool version of a formal ball. Provide your guests with masquerade masks or ask them to create one themselves for your party, you may have a parade or carnival.  In the middle of the ball the unexpected may happen and your guests can be involved on solving a mystery disappearance…

RETRO

Would love to experience what it would have been like if you had been born in another era?

How about a Back to the Future at your party? Go to the fiftees, the 80’s, 70’s, 20’s the gangster era…

This is your special day, make it fun!

PROPS and appropriate lightning and music are a must for this themes. It is all about the details!

OSCAR NIGHT

Love movies and cinematography? Why not recreate an Oscar / award night with red carpet, trophies and papparazzis?

If you just want a few guests and family, you can have a karaoke night or enjoy one or two of your favorite movies. Make it special for them too by giving some awards at the climax of the party. Some idea categories are: best dressed, best hair, best smile, best dancer, best singer…

You can make a grand entrance arriving with a limo to the party, have posters made of your favorite movies and substitute their faces with your friends.

VAMPIRE OR GOTHIC NIGHT

If you are into goth , why not celebrate your party in a total different setting.

Invitations must set the mood for your guests so be creative!

How about sending your invitations on a mailable coffin box. Recreate a cemetery at your party with props and black roses for center pieces. Oh yes, Fog is a must!

AMAZING RACE, SCAVENGER HUNT

What about a scavenger hunt with Hummer limos driving you and your friends around, You have two or three teams with a team leader on each. They will be given identical lists with objects to collect doing assignments and riddles driving from point to point.

A WESTERN NIGHT

Yeeeeehahhh!!!

Who said no Cowboys at this party?

Bring in the horses and the mechanichal bull because we are ready to square dance our night out!

MY FAVORITE MOVIE OR TV SHOW

Resemble one of your favorite movies or TV Shows and have the set up for your party décor create the mood. Some popular movies, Alice in Wonderland, Moulin Rouge,  Old West movies, AVATAR, The Vampire Diaries. Anything is possible, remember this is  a night you and your friends will always remember.

FIVE TOP BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS FOR GIRLS AGES 1-6

April 12, 2010

Looking for a fun  birthday party theme idea for little girls?

Here is the list of our Top five:

Princess Party

On the top of our list is of course, the princess theme. Ask your little girl, who is her favorite princess, you can have the theme of the party on that one princess or combined. Invite in all princesses and princes to come. Ask the girls to come dressed up as their favorite princess or have a company bring in dresses for your guests. Girls love to dress up in costumes, have a princess make over, make-up, nails.

You can also combine this princess party with Royal Tea.

Remember to create games that are age appropriate.

Add to your Princess theme, decorations and a character princess. If you do have a character come to your girl’s party, discuss before with her what she does with the girls. Hippojoy offers the opportunity of a princess talk one on one with the girls. Some topics of interest for mom: Sleeping time on time, good manners at the table, the beauty within every princess. Girls listen to another princess’s advice.

What to do with a few princes that must attend. Prepare king crowns and a couple of all inclusive games like pass the magic slipper or royal sword. (A variation of hot potato, when the music stops, whoever has the slipper or sword has to leave the game, the last one standing is the winner.

Fairy Party

Girls jump up and down with the magic of fairies. Have one magically appear at your next fairy party. Provide each girl with tutus, wands and costume made tiaras. Or prepare children a craft where they create their own. You can combine this fairy party with a magical garden tea. Serve a couple of sweet and salad treats and tea can consist on pink lemonade served on flowery tea pots.

Dance Party

Ballet, Hip Hop, Tap or Salsa?

If your girl is into dancing, why not create a fabulous dance class with a Real ballerina or dancer?  Girls will love to follow to the music, choreography and steps. At the end you can invite the parents to watch the show.

You can choose the dance of your preference or have a little of each style.

Diva, Fashion Show

Does your girl love to play with her Barbie or Bratz dolls and dress them up? Is she into fashion? Explore her inner Diva with a Diva/fashion show party. The highlight of this event is when she and her guests walk the runway. Have a character Diva Host Announce them like in a real fashion show!

Mom Tea Party and Scrapbooking

If your child is one to even pack for her baby doll and loves to carry her around in her carriage or stroller. Invite her friends to a my doll and me Tea Party.

Make sure you put in the invitations that baby dolls are welcome too. Have extra babies in case someone forget hers.

Create a table setting where the playing moms can look after their baby dolls. You can serve tea (pink lemonade) and cookies.

Tea Parties are excellent to chit chat. Invite a Character Host like Miss Rose who can teach the kids some table manners while she creates basic crafts like Scrapbooking with the girls.
