Sweet Princesses and Valiant Knights

November 3, 2010

Hear Ye!  Hear Ye!

All Princesses and Knights from across the land,

you are invited to a Royal event that is truly grand!

There will be costumes galore, red carpets and more

So reserve your place today for

PRINCESS  AZIA’S  4TH  ROYAL BALL!

This is sweet Princess Azia. She is curious and vibrant. A charming and vivacious hostess. In this picture, she is  proudly wearing the gift that Princess Valentine brought for her all the way from Venice. Jewelery of course. She brought it wrapped up on a heart shaped tin box.  A Special gift for a very special princess.

The princesses and knights were all having dinner at their beautifully decorated table….

Individual place cards greeted princess Azia’s guests..

Perfect sized tables, chairs, plates, tea cups, and glassware. The perfect meal, the perfect ball when they were suddenly interrupted…

In comes a doncella with a valiant musketeer. “I must speak with princess Azia at once!” he demanded while she inspected the place to make sure it was appropriate for Princess Valentine.

Something was missing, a golden magic mirror with pigeons on top for the princesses to sing while they watched their Royal transformation.

Music, Fanfare Please, our Royal Princess is arriving…

A royal Backdrop suit for a Wonderful Princess!

Throwing kisses at the magical Fountain:

Paying attention to Princess Valentine’s story. We all  learned it is OK to make mistakes once in a while, everybody makes them. But when you do, lessons can be learned and new and wonderful opportunities may arise.

Our Valiant knights, also learned about the value and responsibility of becoming a Knight on a training for a day!

More pictures:

Our princess was delighted with her party. Princess Valentine, Sir Edward and myself were very happy to join her at this wonderful Royal Ball.

Thank you so much Princess Azia for giving us so many special moments with you and your guests  in the auspicious occasion of your 4th Birthday. We also want to thank Queen Krissy for allowing us share this pictures with all of you.

Unforgettable Snow White!

July 13, 2010

“Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a 1937 american animated film based on Snow White, a fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. It was also the first full-length cel-animated feature in motion picture history, as well as the first animated feature film produced in America, the first produced in full color, the first to be produced by Walt Disney and the first in the Walt Disney Animated Classics canon”. (Information from Wikipedia)

I remember when I first saw Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on the big screen, I think I was six or  seven years old, but I couldn’t get over the fact that even though it was an animated movie, the  water teardrops falling in the well and making  small circular effects looked so real!  “How can they do that?”  I asked my mom.

There is something else that never seizes to amaze me though, in fact, it inspires me: children’s imagination and their ability to transform the simple into extraordinary!  They are so curious and so creative…

All children are special and have their very own talents.  Ariel,(in the picture posing at her Snow White Party) stole my heart from the minute I met her at ballet lessons back in my country of origin, El Salvador.

She is an incredible dancer and gets so much into character when she performs that surprises children and adults alike. So when her mom sent me this picture of her wearing her Snow White Costume,  I got so inspired that I wrote and wrote and developed our “Snow White-Theater” script party. It is awesome, and we have two versions, one for beginners and one for advanced performers like Ariel. I promise I will squeeze in a few ideas from the script in the article.

For our Theatre Party Scripts, write us a note or e-mail us. You can purchase the Script with easy to follow instructions for your party or go all the way inviting us there with a couple of character Hosts who not only direct but are part of the scenes too. We have our Snow White, Prince Charming and Magical Witches.  Theatre Parties are sooo much fun and so is a make-up session and dress up!

No Snow White Party would be complete, without two things: A Mirror, mirror on the wall, saying “Who is the Fairest   of them all! and a Wishing Well, like this one we rent made out of cardboard, but with a string and pale girls can either   pull out their part from the script and find out what character they will play. If you are not into theatre parties,        have your guests fish out of the well nice fortune wishes like the ones you can find in fortune cookies. It is also a nice item to use to pick  prizes randomly.

For this party we decorate with paper flowers and lanterns. (check out pics from Alice in Wonderland Party in this blog).  We can also make the forest animals out of foam. At theatre parties our super cute forest animal masks are made of fabric. (These roles are played by the smallest guests ).

I love the outdoors for this party but in case the Weather is not cooperative enough or you would rather have it  inside, check out this awesome magical backdrop that you can find at digitalblasphemy.com

This beautiful backdrop, the wishing well, fake trees and forest animals, totally set the mood at an indoor party,  don’t you agree?

Now, another fun game….Do you remember this scene from Snow White and the Seven dwarfs?

For this game, we recreate the cave. Kids get a chance to sing, dance and pick hidden treasures from the cave!

For treasures,  ring pops, chocolate coins, rings with huge precious stones. Now when our guest-dwarfs go back home…(to their sitting places..) Ohhhh no! Princess Ariel White is gone. What to do?  Where to look? Any ideas?

Now, if you have a girl that loves to perform like Ariel, (Birthday girll/star of the show) and several kids playing forest animals and

dwarfs, the best way to go is to invite the Medieval/Evil queen as a character host.

Our Host acts as the queen but also directs the kids when she grins ACTION!

You can also invite her to your party, even if it is not a theatre party, she will read the story and add funny comments from her own perspective!

Now for the cake, Check out this beautiful creation by Lineth Cakes,

we are very fortunate to work with her at our parties. She is so professional and

creative and will go along with any of your ideas and add or enhance them, all

the time. And we can get very creative at times….

To check more of her creations visit her facebook page lineth’cake’s

Another food item that you should not leave out at your little girl’s Snow White Party is apples. Make a game where girls pick apples from a small swimming pool using their mouth only or if you want to avoid the splashes … make caramel apples.

I really hope you enjoy this party as much as I have enjoyed writing this article. Thank you Ariel and Gabi for the inspiration and for sharing your picture with us. I love you and wish you the best in your ballet carreer.

As for Hosts, we have Snow White, Prince Charming  and Medieval/evil. We can also help you with decoration and planning your next Snow White Party. Check out our original version of Snow White at a party:

Face Painting makes us happy!

May 20, 2010

Bring a face painter to your next party. You can even have a magical fairy or princess that can create small works of art on your guest’s faces.

When picking a face painter there are certain things you need to consider:

Are they used to working with your age group?

Are the products child friendly, use only face painters who use safe and hypoallergenic face paints.

Face painting has a long and illustrious history in state fairs, theme parks, summer camps, school spring fling. You’ll  find it very hard to have a child who has not had their face painted at some point in their young lives or who would turn away the opportunity.

It still amazes me how face painting never gets old and how endless the possibilities are for face painting designs. From butterflies, rock divas, peacocks, farm friends, leopards, flags, cats and dogs,  you can paint anything that comes to mind.

Check out some happy customers showing off theirs!

Let our creative nature take over our brushes at your next happy hippo joyus event!

Princess Anabelle

May 10, 2010

Princess Anabelle visited Flora Ridge Elementary in Kissimee for their Spring Festival as a special guest. She felt very special surrounded by so many wonderful kids. These siblings in particular made her feel very special. I was nearby so I overheard their conversation, Ooooops, nosy me! It went something like this:

Siblings: Yes, she is! Excuse me, didn’t I meet you at Disney? Aren’t you the Beauty in the Beauty and the Beast?

Anabelle: No, I’m not, but I know her very well…. She is my cousin and our kingdoms are close by. Did you hear what happened to her?  She met a Best and fell madly in love with him…I was so worried for her you know….

Oldest sibling: Don’t worry, there is nothing to worry about, the Beast turned out to be a Prince and they married and live happily ever after.

Anabelle: It is a good thing you tell me this…I left my kingdom some years ago and came to America, I now live in a beautiful Cottage surrounded by trees and flowers, lots and lots of flowers….

They talked and talked and asked alll sort of interesting questions like:

What has happened to your kingdom since you left?

Do you have Dragons in your kingdom?

Does Belle write to you?

The smallest of the three asked to take a picture with Anabelle, here it is…

Blue Spark in Osceola County

May 7, 2010

We were invited to participate on a Partners for Education family picnic. We shared great moments with the kids and their families at beautiful Chisholm PArk Trail in Saint Cloud, FL.

We got there early to put our tent and face painting in place and Blue Spark flew there  and was a great hit with children.

A line of kids waiting for face-painting!

Blue Spark was magical she played around and did face painting on some kids.  Butterfly masks were their favorite, we had a couple of dragons, snakes and spidermans too.

Thankyou Judy for having us at the Park. We had a terrific time and the kids did too!

Quinceañera’s Princess Day

May 5, 2010

Remember this castle? Remember the feelings you experienced when you first saw it?

That huge sigh that come to children when they experience their Magical dream come true.

If ever since you were a little girl you have been dreaming of being a Princess for one day.  This might be the perfect theme for you.

Watch this video to see how many lights took to set up the Castle in the park……. A lot!!!!!

200,000 lights!!  Yes, that many lights!

This is what makes it so magical. If you are considering this theme for your Quinceañera, theatrical lighting is a must!  The light effects is what sets the mood to the party. You can add a very special effect with candles and a variety of  flowers on the Centerpieces or on hanging ornaments and arches. Soft fabrics and a tent effect will also give it a special touch.

We are not too fond of working with balloons for this theme, but if you absolutely love them, recreate arches and add Christmas-like net lights to create a more dramatic effect.

Recreate your entrance on a Magical Carriage or have one staged near the cake. You can also project your favorite childhood memories with your parents or friends and have this projection at a Stage Castle.

Your cake can be in the form of a Cinderella style Carriage or a castle.  You can also recreate your favorite scene from a Princess Movie like a magical garden with enchanted trees or a flower trapeze. Another favorite is a Far east castle with genies and magical carpets.

If you love the Princess idea, but have a more contemporary taste, have stars dancing around on the dance floor and concentrate on the Centerpieces for the wanted effect; this can be a combination of high candelabras or vases and low for some tables. The table cloth must have a dreamy cover with big decorated laces on the chairs.

Remember the color of your dress can also set the tone with the decor.

Music will also be important. Choose the tunes you want to be played by the band or DJ and give your planner the list so she can coordinate ahead of time. Mention your favorite flowers, colors and show her your dress choice.

Your party must entertain and be fun to your guests but most importantly, it will display your taste and personality and you must have fun before, while planning the details, during when you and your family and friends enjoy it and after, when you review the pictures.

Good photography and video is a must and it is better done by professionals.

Asian Inspiration Parties

May 4, 2010

We absolutely love what we do!

One of our most exciting moments is when we meet with our clients and share their vision.

Inspiration can come from anywhere. Watch the following video which was the inspiration for a “Ladies Only” party reunion for a group of lovely ladies that will celebrate their 25 years of unconditional friendship.

The video is for the top 20 single by New Zealand supergroup When The Cat’s Away. Released in 2001 to promote their reunion tour.

The color scheme for their decoration is red, black and white.

It will be a surprise for most of the ladies, so the invitation just suggests to come on their very own, signature black dress!

At the entrance they will be greeted at a lounge  where the video will be playing  and each one will be given a red rose barrette to wear on their hair.

Decoration Pallette/Inspiration

Oriental food will be served of course.  On top of giant towers we will re-create giant trees of life and fortune cookies will hang from the branches wrapped on red tissue paper.

On another corner we are re-creating a picture memory section with dragons like the colorful one you see in the picture and black shadows overlapped on gold and red fabric.

There will also be a sweet station with treats to take home.

Hope to share with you the pictures soon!

Sweet Sixteen Party Ideas

April 28, 2010

The traditional sweet sixteen or quinceanera parties have taken a huge turn!

If you are mom or dad you might be thinking about the traditional ball and your son or daughter might be thinking about a beach party. You may be already rehearsing the waltz in your head while he or she is thinking rave or no music. Or even worse, neither of you can make up your mind or have no idea whatsoever.

That is why it is a good idea to hire a planner to help you set your goals.

First things first. You will need to give them a budget to work with. This is very important because you set the base and limit of what you can have at the party. Also important is an approx. guest list and age range. If you have an idea of what you want, you can bring in pictures, videos an inspirational piece to the first consultation, but in case you have no clue of what you want, have a prior phone interview so the planner can help you figure out what you are about, likes and dislikes. Sometimes it just takes a little push in the right direction for a wonderful party. Some planners even have a form or RFP that will help you understand the direction that the party will take.

Here are some popular ideas for Sweet Sixteen Themes and some key points for each:

THE FORMAL BALL.

A formal Ball can also have many twists…

Do you want to be the princess of the night or make your guests feel like royalty? This is the theme for you.

A formal Ball can also have many twists…

Have the set up resemble an enchanted garden or a set on Paris, China or some exotic location. Or you might prefer a masquerade ball with a mardigrass carnival and all. Make sure that whatever the theme you need to let your guests know so they have the right attire.

Always remember that you should include music theme related and for all ages! Yes that also means some that mom or dad can dance to and enjoy!

MASQUERADE BALL

This is a cool version of a formal ball. Provide your guests with masquerade masks or ask them to create one themselves for your party, you may have a parade or carnival.  In the middle of the ball the unexpected may happen and your guests can be involved on solving a mystery disappearance…

RETRO

Would love to experience what it would have been like if you had been born in another era?

How about a Back to the Future at your party? Go to the fiftees, the 80’s, 70’s, 20’s the gangster era…

This is your special day, make it fun!

PROPS and appropriate lightning and music are a must for this themes. It is all about the details!

OSCAR NIGHT

Love movies and cinematography? Why not recreate an Oscar / award night with red carpet, trophies and papparazzis?

If you just want a few guests and family, you can have a karaoke night or enjoy one or two of your favorite movies. Make it special for them too by giving some awards at the climax of the party. Some idea categories are: best dressed, best hair, best smile, best dancer, best singer…

You can make a grand entrance arriving with a limo to the party, have posters made of your favorite movies and substitute their faces with your friends.

VAMPIRE OR GOTHIC NIGHT

If you are into goth , why not celebrate your party in a total different setting.

Invitations must set the mood for your guests so be creative!

How about sending your invitations on a mailable coffin box. Recreate a cemetery at your party with props and black roses for center pieces. Oh yes, Fog is a must!

AMAZING RACE, SCAVENGER HUNT

What about a scavenger hunt with Hummer limos driving you and your friends around, You have two or three teams with a team leader on each. They will be given identical lists with objects to collect doing assignments and riddles driving from point to point.

A WESTERN NIGHT

Yeeeeehahhh!!!

Who said no Cowboys at this party?

Bring in the horses and the mechanichal bull because we are ready to square dance our night out!

MY FAVORITE MOVIE OR TV SHOW

Resemble one of your favorite movies or TV Shows and have the set up for your party décor create the mood. Some popular movies, Alice in Wonderland, Moulin Rouge,  Old West movies, AVATAR, The Vampire Diaries. Anything is possible, remember this is  a night you and your friends will always remember.
