New Candy Buffet

April 5, 2012

The best ideas come were you least expect them. At our last Spa party, Claudia, the twins mom suggested an antique chest for the serving of the sweet buffet. “Instead of fabric, you can use it both as a perfect backdrop for pictures and a buffet”, she suggested.

I could not get the idea off my mind. So I persuaded my loving husband to get me one. We worked hard on it antiqued it, but the results were fantastic!

Depending on the theme, we place the sweets in jars, trays and mix it with whimsical items. For the Spa party, flower balls in pink and lime green and brazilian brigadeiros on a tub. How cute is that?

The sweets:

Diva lolipops, pop corn flowers, white chocolate strawberries and coconut and oreo filled little balls.

Super Chic Spa Party

April 2, 2012

The use of the French très chic (very chic) by an english speaker would generally mean elegant, beautiful,  and it is specially associated with stylishness.

So what else could these two beautiful twins have for their birthday party? The answer:   A très chic spa party,   with Hippojoy.

Introducing Marina & Gabriella, two sparkly and adorable twins…. One is totally into pink, the other one would rather have a calm setting and loves lime-green. Perfect combination…voila!

This is a party were a photographer is a must. Marina and Gabriella were fortunate to have deLima photography at their party. Thank you for allowing us to use your beautiful and professional pics, great work.

The setting was in pink, fucsia and lime green. We had stations so the girls would be pampered every step of the way.

They were greeted with a sparkly beverage by Miss Roxanne, who flew directly from France with her associate Maggie. They own a luxurious Spa in France you see, the Spa were Monsieur Beaveerrr and his girl friend, beautiful Selena go for some beauty rest. Madamme Roxanne, has a heavy frenchy accent but is great to be around with.  She has great beauty tips for every girl…

A little toast for the Birthday girl were they shared their wishes for them and said beautiful things about the twins.  We taught the girls the importance of walking with confidence, inner beauty and how a happy smile can conquer a lot! I am not sure if it was what we have told them or the fun they were having but smiles were everywhere.

The girls had beauty masks, a relaxing massage, make up and manicures.

I will post more pictures and talk a little bit more about menu and other great ideas for the Spa theme.

If you want to contact us for your next Spa event for your girl or any other event, please do so at…

Dr. Seuss’s Birthday

March 3, 2011

March 2,  marks the birthday of children’s author Dr. Seuss.Dr. Seuss would have turned 105 if he were still alive today.

Dr. Seuss was actually born Theodor Seuss Geisel in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 2, 1904. Seuss grew up in the New England area and went to Dartmouth College. That’s where both his writing career began and his “Doctor” moniker was formed.

Seuss, as the story goes, was caught partying during Prohibition. As a punishment, the school told him to step down from his extracurricular activities, which included writing for a school publication called the Jack-o-Lantern. Seuss, however, wanted to keep writing, so he started working under the name “Dr. Seuss” to keep administrators from realizing it was him.

Dr. Seuss eventually became famous for his rhyming, brightly illustrated books such as The Cat in the Hatand Green Eggs and Ham. He died in 1991, at the age of 87.

Is your Son’s name Sam? Like in Sam I am? or does he like green eggs and ham?

Well a Dr. Seuss Bday Party can always be fun.

Remember in your decor that Dr. Seuss never drew straight lines in his illustrations. Everything was curved, slanted or “wonky.” Thus, there are no straight lines in Seuss Land so this cake tilted a little bit to one side is perfect for the ocassion.

Created by Annie from Annie’s Eats for her son’s second birthday, this Dr. Seuss inspired party is ideal  for anyone who loves these classic books.

No Dr Seuss Party would be complete without the green eggs and ham.

No doubt, love is in the details!

And if you didn’t get a chance to celebrate what would have been Dr Seuss’ 105th Bday  last week? There’s still a way to pay tribute to your favorite children’s book author at the Loews Portofino Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

The hotel unveiled its Dr Seuss suites over the summer which come with a king bedroom for Mom and Pop and a kids’ room with two twin beds and plenty of Dr. Seuss decor. And recently, the hotel used the suites to host a Read Across America event with children from a local elementary school with wonderful characters.

To book a happy, loving Dr Seuss celebration with decor, character hosts and more, think things no more…

Cupcake and Pirate Charm

December 19, 2010

We are so happy to introduce to you our new team character hosts: Princess Cupcake and Pirate Charm.

Princess Cupcake is a beautiful princess from a far, far, far away land. She was about to get married to a horrible, terrible, despicable man, when she falls madly in love with a peasent. She did not know the peasant was in reality a pirate who helped the people from the village that where held prisoners by the evil future king….

Our characters were inspired by Robin Hood, Zorro and the Princess Bride.  The film, the Princess Bride,  is an enactment of the following story read by a sick boy’s grandfather (Falk) as the boy (Savage) sits in bed listening, framed and occasionally interrupted by scenes of the reading.
A beautiful young woman named Buttercup (Wright) lives on a farm in the fictional country of Florin.
Whenever she orders the farmhand Westley (Elwes) to do chores for her, he complies and answers “As you wish.”
Eventually she realizes he loves her and admits her love for him.  Watch a trailer of the movie from the 80’s:

Handsome Pirate Charm plays games with the kids. We can even recreate a fun jail where they are brought in. To get out, they have to either be rescued by friends, comply to a princess wish or perform a task for Pirate Charm.

Children will love to perform and play a variety of games at your next party.

TIPS FOR A GLOW/COCO BONGO PARTY

May 23, 2010

I must admit that this sweet sixteen party idea in particular has been one of my favorites!

From the inspiration to the final result. I know your guests will be overwhelmed from the minute they come into the venue and AWE moments throughout the party.

First things first, you must see where the inspiration comes from: Coco Bongo Discotheque.  The kid had been to this disco in Cancun where the mood is set in a way that you can not miss the party!  We have been there ourselves a couple of times and we knew perfectly well what he was talking about!  Every once in a while amazing shows go on stage  and throughout the club  like confetti streamers, balloons, dancing balls, bar top conga lines, movie clips projected on high tech video screens, live bands, DJs, soap bubbles… you name it!  The high energy of this club is commonly packed with party goers.  Combine this with Coco Bongo’s extraordinary musical mix, taking sounds from the 70s & 80s, Dance, Trance, Hip Hop and Rave it’s easy to see why Coco Bongo’s dance floor is always full.

Check out this video from Coco Bongo in Cancun.  Give the video a little time, it is very dark at the beginning …

It is a constant stimulation for the senses!

What we do for this type of party:

DECORATION AND LIGHTING

If your venue is  a club that already has the dancing strobe lights, fine. But having that venue for a private party can be prohibitively expensive. No worries mate! (sorry, I am still in the mood of a crocodile dundee adventure party…) We can bring the lights to you! Yes, for this party, lightning lights and decoration will set the tone for this party and will turn any common venue or even your house from ordinary into extraordinary!

On the middle right hand side you can see our airtube decoration on broad daylight. For this party we use a variety of colors, they can be used outdoor, indoor. You can even transform the front of your house or the whole backyard for this night!

Now, the lighting effects. We combine and work with the DJ so that the song and lighting are totally in sync.  These with additional video and slide shows played on huge screen(s) will sure WOW your guests! If you have been to the Blueman Group Concert or to Cirque Du Soleil, you know what I’m talking about!

Check out this video, lights go with the song!

Now, for the center pieces, good news, very good actually, no expensive flowers necessary for this one, although we have worked some beautiful centerpieces for sweet sixteen using similar themes, I suggest going for battery lamps and glow in the dark centerpieces.

ENTERTAINMENT

Now, here is where we can get really creative, inviting innovative party guests and a variety of things that will happen at different moments during the party. Living statues, stilt walkers, golden people walking around, dancers, glow in the dark necklaces and teeth,  lookalikes, balloons, bubbles, mini carnivals, line-dances, foam and bubbles, did I tell you that at this party everyone wants to be at the dance floor? Video-sound-smell-taste, WOW moments that are amazing but most of all unexpected.  One of this AWE moments will be your entrance!  It doesn’t have to be at the beginning like most common dances, it can totally have a twist to it!
