Bollywood is the informal term popularly used for the Hindi -language film industry based in Mumbai (Bombay). Like Hollywood, it is the largest film producer in India and one of the largest centers of film production in the world.

 Mehndi is typically applied during special festivals and Hindu events like weddings.  Many women have Henna applied to their hands and feet.

Celebrating a Star!

For this celebration, every child received a vip pass. A bouncer at the entrance would ask for the pass. Oh my! Hopefully they did not forget it because them and their parents got a little attitude from the cranky/silly guy at the door.

 

 

 

Every child had their own star in the hall of fame. They were waiting for someone special… Flamboyant as usual and always in a hurry, in comes Madame Roxanne looking for talent in Orlando so the casting soon begun…

 

 

 

Time for the real talent test: Can you hold up the balloon while you dance to changing rhythms and tunes? So the adults wanted to give it a try too. Maybe they didn’t hear when Madame said she was searching for “children” talent. Hmmm…..

Madame’s assistant: “Lights, Camera, Action!!!” I said Action, Action!!!!!

It was then time for the surprise of the evening: A limo ride with her superstar friends.

Hoot, Hoot…. Wise Owl turns one!

Welcome to Kabir’s one year old party celebration.  We decided on a cartoon-like feel and lots of color for this little owl because he is so playful and fun!

A board with some of his pictures and sweet messages and birthday wishes from his parents and older sister. The board was placed in the dining room where the buffet for adults was served.

 

The banner read:   “OWL GROWN UP KABIR”.  The center pieces were tree branches with cartoon hand draws portraits holding some of the birthday boy’s most memorable moments! 

 

 

Little owl boxes for party favors. Lots of colors were used but pulled together with fabrics in a variety of browns and orange and black and white hand drawn cartoon leaves and branches.

 

Party favors varied: the girls got this cute owl totes, the babies had those cute owl pillows and boys the little cups in the orange boxes. All of the favors were displayed and served as decoration too!
